Overall length between buffers 14.000mm Wheelbase 8.500mm with a load capacity of 101 m3 .

The wagons are fitted with Knorr type air brakes many wagons also having a handbrake operated by a 5 spoked hand wheel. The wagons can be fitted with round or square buffer plates. Some wagons have a large handrail at both ends by the mounting ladder while many lack the rail at the front end.

The mounting ladder is installed at one end. On the sides there are diagonally placed double-hinged inspection door.. The outer chassis is tapered to the buffer backplate. Between the chassis members there is a sideways sloping bunker so that the normal load capacity may be increased by a further 10m3. The rear walls are provided with hinged doors so that the wagon may be emptied over the buffers by a tip.

The inner surfaces of the side walls have a smooth finish so that the load may slide out without hindrance.

This vehicle is intended for the transport of wood pulp (wood chips and sawdust) but is also used for the transport of waste paper, rubbish and scrap metal. Private wagons of the Railtrans company are widely used especially in block trains for the transport of wood shavings, sawdust, rags and waste paper and operate systematically between the large sawmills, paper mills and waste dumps throughout Europe.

Many Railtrans wagons in France have been built on to the chassis of other types and are let out and registered by SCNF to other railway undertakings.

In Austria these wagons in their striking liveries work between, for example, a sawmill in Solenau and a paper mill into the north of Graz on the Sudbahnstrecke as they do between Ybbs-Donau and Waldenhausen and Frantscach-St. Gertraud.

After long operation the original white lettering turns to a rusty orange from clinging brake dust.
