The radio-controllable bogie diesel locomotives were built in 1991 by Kaelble Gmeinder in Mosbach,

primarily for the construction of the Vereina tunnel.

This was first-class only, with a panoramic driving trailer either end of paired BDe4/4 3005+3006.

The two Ast116/117 were equipped with control gear taken from the railcars BDe4/4 3005+3006.
The bar coach Ars115 completed the late 80's/90's showpiece of the MOB.
As110 served as an additional coach and equipped with the necessary control lines.
