| Between 1945 and 1949 the SBB commissioned a number of light metal passenger coaches for the Brünig railway. |
| These type I coaches were designated A111-112, A181-182, AB471-474, and B841-858 . |
| In 1953/54 these coaches were followed by the slightly modified middle-entrance coaches of type II; AB475-480 and B859-866. |
| From 1997, following the introduction of push-pull trains on the valley sections, and the start of a retrofit program for the standard type III coaches (1966 onwards), the SBB sold most of these coaches to nearby railway authorities -. |
| 5 to BVZ, 6 to FO, 6 to BOB, and 7 to LSE. |
| Most of these coaches are still in service today and are used during peak traffic periods. |
